The spring semester is almost over, this means finals are creeping up and procrastination will hit its peak, so why not glance at this list to help you save time with the show you'll waste time on! These shows are in no particular order, some are fully available and some are still airing, but rest assured you can bounce back and forth between them for a good time. 13 Reasons Why The show that everyone binged over the weekend has made this list. This show is definitely not perfect, for example the way it glamorizes suicide, but it does do some great work in challenging modern discourses. This show challenges the male gaze, it demonstrates the fluidity of sexuality and its presentation, and it critiques the silence and stigma towards survivors of rape. Not only does the Selena Gomez production offer some important points, but it does so in a gripping and powerful narrative that will keep you in your seat until the end. RuPaul's Drag Race The show is currently in season 9, and yet many have still not seen this sickening show. It's no surprise though. Drag Race recently switched over to a major network, VH1, and while this show, and the greater LGBT+ community has long informed mainstream media, this time you can catch all the death drops, jump splits, and reads for yourself every Friday at 9 p.m.! I highly recommend watching the older seasons so you can both understand the competition and see some of the greatest looks and stunts television has ever offered. I'm not kidding America's Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance, and Project Runway have nothing on these queens! Famous in Love
From the executive producers of one of my all time favorite shows "Pretty Little Liars" comes "Famous in Love" a show that just debuted today about a girl who makes it big in L.A. I'll admit it right now, yes a big reason I love this show is because it's set in my home of Hollywood. But, the show focuses on an important note; it's all about luck. Some people, with certain political views, will say that all you have to do is work hard and you'll make it. This show makes it clear that fame and success are literally about the luck of the draw. The whole season is up for streaming now in Hulu and you can bet I'll be streaming soon! |
